We’d like to thank John P for sharing this story
It was 1980 – I was 13 years old and with my Father at O’Hare airport when I spotted Bill Murray waiting to check into his flight. I told my Dad “Hey, that’s Bill Murray!” My Dad, never one to be star struck, answered back, “Sure looks like it”.
“Do you think he’d mind if I ask him for an autograph?”
My Dad responded that it didn’t look like he was too busy, so I walked up to him and asked for an autograph. He was very friendly and gracious to do so, while my dad told him, “My son stays up late every Saturday to watch your show”, my dad explained.
“I hope he’s not drinking too much”
“Nope, I do the drinking at our house”, my dad assured him. “Good for you sir”, was his reply, and we were on our merry way.
