We would like to thank Jared for sharing the following story.
It was Christmas Eve, I think of 2007, and I was at the Palisades Mall in New York with my girlfriend at the time to do some last minute Christmas shopping. We were trying to remember which floor Barnes & Noble was on as we stepped into the elevator.
“Do you remember where Barnes & Noble is?” she asked.
“I don’t know, I think it was on the 3rd floor maybe?” I responded.
Just then, another voice entered the conversation. I was so distracted with trying to remember the location of the store that I hadn’t even noticed the other two men on the elevator with us.
“It’s on the fourth floor,” said the voice. I looked over and there was Bill Murray, dressed head to toe in camouflage, with one of those bright orange winter hats that hunters wear. I was surprised. My girlfriend started freaking out.
“Oh my god, Bill Murray!” she exclaimed. “Can I have a hug?”
“Not while he’s here,” he responded in his classic deadpan tone, gesturing at me. “Look at the guns on him.” It should be noted that I am somewhat of a smaller fellow, and was even more scrawny back then.
With that, the elevator stopped and he and his friend coolly walked away, leaving us bewildered.
I will not say that he said, “No one will ever believe you”, because he didn’t.
Wow that’s great. I used to go to that mall, wonder if BN even still exists?
